Power Plant Businesses

Factors such as past performance and experience of TTCL have contributed mainly to the success of investments in the power plant business.

Our power plants are efficient, environmental-friendly and comply with regulations and standards as defined by law. At present, TTCL plants are in the process of construction and investment, which can be separated into different categories as follow.

Navanakorn Electric Company Limited

Towards the end of 2010, TTCL jointly invested in Navanakorn Electric Company Limited for the construction of a 120MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine power plant in Pathumthani, Thailand, in which TTCL became a preferred stock holder with investment amount of 642.66 million baht or 41.95 percent of the total registered capital amount 1,532 million baht. The plant began commercial operation in October 2013 and has a power purchase agreement to supply electricity to Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand for 25 years.

Toyo Thai Power Myanmar Co., Ltd.

In late 2012, TTCL Group established TOYO THAI POWER MYANMAR CO., LTD., and signed a power purchase agreement with the Myanmar Electric Power Enterprise, The Republic of the Union of Myanmar for investment in a 120MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine power plant at Ahlone, Yangon. TTCL Group’s investment as common shareholders amount 30.79 million US dollars, equivalent to 59.68 percent of the total registered capital amount 51.59 million US dollars. The plant has begun partial commercial operation since April 2013, receiving a 30-year concession period for Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) with the Myanmar Electric Power Enterprise.

Siam Solar Power Co., Ltd

Towards the end of 2011, TTCL Group jointly invested in Siam Solar Power Co., Ltd. to build an 8MW solar power plant at Angthong, Thailand. TTCL Group invested as common shareholders, with investment amount of 100.00 million baht or 40.00 percent of the total registered capital of 250 million baht. The plant began commercial production in March 2013 and has a power purchase agreement with Provincial Electricity Authority for a period of 10 years.

Siam GNE Solar Energy Co., Ltd.

In late 2013, TTCL Group jointly invested in Siam GNE Solar Energy Co., Ltd. to construct a 743.4 KW solar rooftop power plant in Rayong, Thailand. TTCL Group invested as a common shareholder with investment amount of 8.00 million baht, accounting for 50.00 percent of the total registered capital of 16 million baht. Since February 2014, the plant has started commercial production and has power purchase agreement with Provincial Electricity Authority for a period of 25 years.
