TOYO-THAI AND SIMON CARVES JOINTLY AWARDED LARGE POLYETHYLENE PLANT IN THAILAND
Toyo-Thai Corporation Ltd. (Toyo-Thai) and Simon Carves Limited (Simon Carves) have jointly received lump-sum contracts for a large polyethylene plant from PTT Polyethylene Company Limited (PTTPE). By using technology of Basell Lupotech T, the plant will produce 300,000 t/y Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) from ethylene supplied from PTTPE�fs adjacent Ethane Cracker Plant. This world-scale polyethylene plant is to be built at Padaeng Industrial Estate in Thailand and scheduled to complete by the first quarter of 2010. The LDPE produced from this plant is highly flexible used in packaging film, grocery bags, agricultural mulch, cable insulation, squeeze bottles, toys, housewares and etc.
Toyo-Thai, who undertakes onshore construction works, and Simon Carves, who undertakes offshore supply works, will closely coordinate the total project work until completion of the project. This large LDPE Plant is the third major project which Toyo-Thai is awarded from PTTPE.
